How the phrases are written
Small enough to believe
The thinking behind every line in the app.
Believable is what makes a phrase land.
Your mind checks every sentence it hears against the life you're actually living. When a phrase clears that check it settles in quietly; when it overshoots, your attention goes to the gap instead. A 2009 study in Psychological Science found the same thing — the phrases that help are the ones a person already finds believable. So that's the size we write to.
The lines are small on purpose.
“What wants to leave has my permission to go.”“This grip loosens one quiet finger at a time.”
True enough to agree with on the first read — which is exactly why they stay with you. The quiet ones are the ones that last.
A few quiet minutes, most days.
Words you can believe, in a voice you choose, for about five minutes a day. That's the whole offer — and it's small enough to actually keep, which is what makes it work.
Hear it before you install.
The read-aloud voice is the product. Here it is, unedited.
“Letting go is not losing; it is making room.”
That's the exact file the app plays. The voices are text-to-speech, chosen for warmth — the app says so, so we say it here.
Six voices ship in the app. These are three of them.
What five minutes actually looks like
Open it and start — everything's adjustable once you're in.
-
1
Pick a length, or leave it open.
Five, ten, fifteen or thirty minutes — or open-ended, and the clock stays out of it. Set a custom length if you want something else, and tap +5 min whenever you want longer.
-
2
Turn on Read aloud.
Six voices, from warm American to mellow British. Tap one to hear it before you commit, and each affirmation is spoken as it appears on screen.
-
3
Add sound, and a breath to follow.
A soft ambient loop underneath — Forest is free; Ocean, Meditation and Alpha waves come with Plus. A breathing mark keeps time so you’re not counting. Then the words arrive one at a time, and you don’t have to do anything else.
What's in the app
A daily mix, tuned to 12 topics
Letting Go, Calm & Anxiety, Self-Love, Gratitude, Faith & Trust, Confidence, Sleep & Rest, Healing, Morning Light, Forgiveness, New Beginnings, Inner Peace. Pick what you're actually working through and the daily mix follows. Change it when the season changes.
Gentleness is the language I am learning to speak inward.
Self-LoveYour own words, read back to you
Write the card yourself, in your own phrasing — that's usually the one that lands. With Plus you can hear it read in the voice you picked, generated right on your phone, so what you wrote stays on your device.
Cards you can actually use
Export any affirmation as a story, a post, or a phone wallpaper, with your font and gradient. Save it to Photos, share it, or just copy the text. Favorite what lands, group cards into collections, and search when you remember a line but not where you saw it.
Reminders that respect your day
Choose the times yourself. Set a topic per reminder or let it shuffle, and set quiet hours so nothing arrives at 2am. Free covers up to three a day; Plus, as many as you like.
On your home and lock screen
A widget showing a random affirmation, or one pulled from your favorites — so you see a line without opening anything.
Streaks and calm minutes, counted honestly
A day streak, calm minutes across the last fourteen days, and milestones worth reaching: First 30 calm minutes. Two hours of calm. 25 calm sessions. Your account carries all of it to a new phone — and you can delete every bit of it from Settings, any time.
Also in there: light and dark mode, and a voice volume you control.
Twelve topics, not one mood
Pick the ones that match this season. Change them when it changes.
Eight are free. Sleep & Rest, Healing, Forgiveness, Inner Peace come with Plus.
What to expect
A steady nudge, most days.
This is a small, repeatable practice. On a hard day it helps you take one breath before the next thought — and that breath is often enough to change the next hour.
A self-talk practice.
Affirm Away is a practice for the voice you use on yourself. If you're carrying something heavier, a qualified professional or a local support line is the right kind of help, and worth reaching for.
Phrases that meet you where you are.
You'll see small lines more often than triumphant ones. Those are the ones that hold up on a bad morning.

They're six text-to-speech voices, chosen for warmth rather than drama — the app says so too. Pick the one you like best, and change it whenever you want.
Will affirmations actually work for me?
They work best when the phrase is one you already find believable — which is how every line in the app is written. We've written up what the research actually shows. Read more →
I tried affirmations and felt worse.
That's common, and it's exactly why every line here is written small enough to agree with. Start with the ones that already feel true, and let them do the work. Read more →
How do reminders work?
You choose the times, the topics, and quiet hours, so they arrive when you want them. Free includes up to three a day, and you can set as few as you like.
Is this therapy?
